So, I have an older friend that is looking to take his lover away for a week of passion, romance and well, you get the picture. He isn't quite sure where he should take her, though. It's not a honeymoon, but I figured that this would be allowed none the less. What would be an exotic place that he could take her where she could lay out in either a bikini or even nothing and just soak up the sun? The place would need to include privacy and have a very romantic atmosphere. They're in love, but sometimes, you just need a vacation. So, what is a good place I should tell him?

St. Barts/St. Barth's has some topless beaches as it's a French island. It is very beautiful and a great place for romance, especially if they rent a villa. It is pricey $$-wise though. If they want a resort type of atmosphere then there are a number to choose from on many islands (i don't think st. bart's has resorts though, at least it didn't when i was there).

Or if money isn't really an object he can look into those resorts in the South Pacific (Turtle Island?) I seem to recall someone honeymooning there and they said there were only a couple dozen other people on the whole island. It was quite pricey though.

Ladera resort in St. Lucia ... check it out. It's incredibly unique, romantic, natural, and has breathtaking views, private plunge pools, etc.

Ritz-Carlton in Cancun was a great place and a great price. Royal Hideaway in Playa del Carmen was a great upscale AI.

I hear that Aspen is a great place to go. I have a friend that owns a cabin house up there. It is especially romantic during the winter.

For me its the calm sea which is located barely 50 kms from our place and this is a perfect place for both of us to get together and share our private moments. Its a great escape from the concrete jungle.
